What
is Casual Day?
Casual Day is a FUNdraising project benefiting persons with disabilities.
Each year we call upon everybody to dress differently on the first
Friday of September and to wear the Casual Day sticker to show
their support for disabled people.
In an ever-demanding society the challenge to
raise funds for the services rendered by a welfare organization
becomes bigger day after day. Over the past 13 years this project
has proved to be an easy, successful and risk free way for a welfare
organization to raise funds. It provides the opportunity for national
as well as local welfare organizations in the disability sector
to participate via the structures of the project and to raise
much needed funds for services rendered. The South African
Federation for Mental Health is one of the beneficiaries of Casual
Day, hence our participation in this project annually.
Casual Day is always on the first Friday of September.
The 2008 project will take place on Friday, 5 September 2008.
